Reproductive Genetics

Reproductive Genetics

It searches for the causes of infertility and the risk of hereditary diseases

Infertility disorders, risk of pregnancy complications, carrier status of the most common congenital diseases, the need for supplementation in pregnancy.

Reproductive genetics is linked to reproductive medicine and assisted reproduction. Genetic analysis allows us to determine whether one or both partners carry a genetic mutation that could cause serious illness or congenital defects in their offspring, or it seeks the cause of infertility or recurrent miscarriages. We examine so-called thrombophilic mutations, which increase the risk of miscarriage and other pregnancy complications, genes related to fertility disorders, and hereditary predispositions to serious congenital diseases (especially in families where a congenital developmental defect or disease has already occurred).
