Sensory Genetics
It determines the risk of sensory organ impairment.
Non-syndromic congenital hearing loss, age-related macular degeneration, primary open-angle glaucoma, periodontitis.
The sensory genetics panel examines genetic predispositions for various sensory organ disorders, including non-syndromic congenital hearing loss, age-related macular degeneration, age-related cataracts, primary open-angle glaucoma, and periodontitis. It also includes several rare congenital eye and ear diseases. Predispositions for multifactorial eye diseases developing in later life, such as cataracts and macular degeneration, are also assessed. If these diseases are not detected early, there is a risk of complete vision loss, making prevention absolutely crucial.
