We have launched a unique programme "STROM PREVENCE" at the Prosek Polyclinic
On 12 September, we launched a unique preventive programme called STROM PREVENCE at the Prosek Polyclinic. It will offer clients important preventive genetic tests for predisposition to breast, ovarian and prostate cancer, increased blood clotting, celiac disease and others. As part of the launch, our unique three-metre high statue of Venus, a symbol of breast cancer prevention, was unveiled at the clinic.
In particular, hereditary predispositions play an important role in the prevention of cancer, which can be reliably detected by predictive genetic testing. For example, breast and ovarian cancer arises in 5-10% of cases in women due to genetic mutations in BRCA 1,2 genes. If the mutation is proven, the risk of developing breast cancer is up to 87%, which is a high number. Given that approximately 7000 women are diagnosed each year, up to 700 of them may have a genetic cause. But mutations in the BRCA 1,2 genes don't just threaten women. For men, they increase the risk of prostate cancer or other types of cancer.
For the examination, the client pays only a fee of 350 CZK. Clients can find all the information on the project's www.stromprevence.cz website, where they can make an appointment for individual examinations.
Opening hours of the STROM PREVENCE sampling centre: Mon, Tue, Thu: 8:00-12:00
The sampling centre is located on the ground floor of the polyclinic and is navigated from the entrance - address Lovosická 440, Praha 9
